Is AIB-C01 a technical exam?

No. There is no coding, no service configuration, and no architecture design. The exam tests strategic decisions: which AI use cases to fund, how to measure value, how to govern AI responsibly, and how to scale it. Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker AI, and Amazon Quick is expected only at a business level.

When did the exam launch, and what does it cost?

Beta registration opened on September 1, 2026 and beta delivery begins on September 29, 2026. The beta sits at 50 USD against a standard price of 100 USD. Candidates who earn the certification by February 15, 2027 also receive an Early Adopter badge.

How many questions are on the exam?

The beta form is 85 questions in 170 minutes, which is longer than the standard form because beta exams carry additional unscored items. The exam guide sets the standard duration at 130 minutes. Scores are reported on a 100 to 1000 scale and 700 is a pass.

What are the domain weights?

AI Fundamentals and Literacy is 24 percent, AI Strategy and Business Value Creation is 28 percent, AI Governance and Responsible AI Leadership is 24 percent, and Business Readiness, Leadership, and AI Transformation is 24 percent. No single domain dominates, so preparation has to cover all four.

Do I need another AWS certification first?

No. There are no prerequisites. AWS recommends about six months working with or alongside teams adopting AI, plus a general awareness of what AWS AI services do at a business level.

How is this different from AWS Certified AI Practitioner?

AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) covers AI and ML concepts and AWS AI services for a broad technical-adjacent audience. AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) is a business-track exam: strategy, value measurement, governance, readiness, and enterprise scaling, grounded in the same AI literacy but aimed at the people who fund and lead AI programs.

Question 1 of 150/15 answered

A retailer's customer service manager reports that the AI assistant keeps making the same mistake about a returns policy that changed in March. She says she has corrected it in the chat several times and expected it to have learned by now. What should the strategist explain?

The model does not learn from corrections in conversation, so the policy source or prompt has to change.

The manager needs to correct the assistant more consistently, since occasional corrections are outweighed by other conversations.

Corrections take effect after the model's next scheduled retraining, which may be several months away.

The assistant is retrieving an outdated policy document, which is the only possible cause.
