Best NCA-ADS Practice Tests in 2026, and How to Use Them

Preporato TeamOctober 24, 20269 min readNCA-ADS

NCA-ADS covers the daily work of a data scientist moving to GPUs: joining and cleaning data with cuDF and pandas, training and judging models with cuML and XGBoost, building pipelines with Dask, tracking experiments and keeping environments reproducible. NVIDIA publishes no sample questions for the exam (as of October 2026), so the topic list and the suggested reading in its study guide are the best guide to what the questions cover.

A useful practice test turns that topic list into situations where you have to choose a technique, a setting or a tool, across all eight sections, at the pace of the real exam (up to 60 questions in one hour, as of October 2026), and explains why each wrong option is wrong.

Two questions on NCA-ADS topics

Both cover topics from NVIDIA's NCA-ADS study guide.

Two NCA-ADS practice questions

Question 1 of 2Machine Learning With RAPIDS

A team trains a model that predicts sleep stages from wearable sensor data. The dataset has thousands of readings from each of 40 patients, and the model will be used on patients it has never seen. Which cross-validation setup gives an honest estimate of its accuracy?

If you picked a distractor, look at why it looked right. That usually means you knew the tool but not the condition it is for: which split suits which data, or which component a version number describes.

What to look for in an NCA-ADS practice test

Questions from all eight sections, in proportion. NVIDIA publishes the weight of each section, from Data Manipulation and Preparation at 23% down to Software and Environment Management at 6%. A practice test that draws mostly on pandas and machine learning leaves you unprepared for MLOps, time series and graphs, and environment management, which together make up close to a quarter of the exam.

An explanation for every option. Read the explanations for the questions you got right as well. Some of those were guesses, and the explanation is where you learn the reason.

The real pace. One hour for up to 60 questions leaves about a minute each. Timed practice shows whether you recognize answers or work them out slowly.

Free questions before you pay. A practice test worth buying lets you see its questions first, so you can judge the explanations yourself.

Hands-on practice for NCA-ADS

NVIDIA's study guide recommends hands-on experience with at least one workflow that runs from data ingestion and cleaning through feature engineering to model training and evaluation. Its main recommended course, Accelerating End-to-End Data Science Workflows, builds that workflow on GPUs.

Preporato Pro adds hands-on labs for skills in NVIDIA's topic list: data cleaning and feature engineering, class imbalance, PCA and clustering; a RAPIDS pipeline with cuDF and cuML on a GPU; scikit-learn and XGBoost models with cross-validation, metrics and decision thresholds; time series backtesting; MLflow tracking, drift monitoring, versioning and model serving; GPU profiling and monitoring; and Docker and Git. They run in the browser with nothing to install, the GPU labs on NVIDIA GPU pods, and every step is checked automatically. Descriptive statistics, visualization and graph analytics have no lab yet.

Hands-on labs

Six labs to start with

One lab each for a GPU pipeline, features, XGBoost, metrics, experiment tracking and containers. They come with Pro, and the three that run without a GPU let you try their first step before you subscribe.

GPU-Accelerated Data Science with RAPIDS

Rewrite a pandas + sklearn data-science pipeline on GPU using cuDF and cuML, benchmark each stage against the CPU baseline, and run an end-to-end filter -> feature-engineer -> predict pipeline that never leaves the GPU.

Data Cleaning and Feature Engineering: Predict Rents From a Messy Export

Take a messy real-world export to a model that beats the baseline by 70%: fix units, spellings and mixed rent periods, compare against no-model baselines, build a scikit-learn pipeline with imputation, missing-value indicators, scaling and one-hot encoding, model a log target, run an ablation to keep only features that help, and look at the test set once.

Gradient Boosting with XGBoost: Predict Late Deliveries and Explain Every Prediction

Beat a logistic regression with gradient-boosted trees on messy delivery data, watch extra rounds memorise the training set and stop them early, tune tree shape with a randomised search, compare split-count, gain and permutation importance against a planted noise column, and explain single predictions with per-feature contributions.

Metrics That Match the Business: Choose a Threshold from a Cost Table

Set a fraud screen's threshold from what mistakes cost instead of the default 0.5: count true and false positives, compute precision, recall and flag rate, plot ROC and precision-recall curves and see why ROC AUC flatters a model when fraud is rare, price every threshold with a cost table, respect the review team's capacity, and report the result on a week of orders the choice never saw.

Using practice tests in the last two weeks

Take your first timed test cold and open the results page to see your misses grouped by section.

Spend the next three or four days on the section with the most misses. Go back to NVIDIA's topic list and suggested reading for that section, then reread the explanations for every question you missed in it.

Take a second test and compare the section scores. Often the weak section improves while another slips, because one test samples each section with only a few questions. Study the one that slipped next.

Keep that rhythm (a test, a few days on the weakest section, another test) until two tests you have not taken before both come back at 80% or higher. We use 80% as the line because NVIDIA does not publish a passing score for NCA-ADS (as of October 2026), and a margin protects you from a hard draw of questions on the day. Then book the exam.

For a longer runway, the 4-week NCA-ADS study plan lays out a month of preparation, and the 20 explained practice questions are a free warm-up before your first full test.

Frequently asked questions

Does NVIDIA offer official NCA-ADS practice questions?

No. As of October 2026, NVIDIA publishes neither sample questions nor a practice exam for NCA-ADS. The study guide lists the topics and suggested reading for each of the eight sections.

How many NCA-ADS practice tests should I take before the exam?

Take them until two tests you have not seen before both come back at 80% or higher. Plan for three or four tests with study in between, and let the scores tell you when to stop.

Are the preporato.com NCA-ADS practice tests like the real exam?

They follow NVIDIA's eight sections and weights, and each test gives you 60 questions in 60 minutes, the top of the real exam's 50 to 60 questions in one hour. Since NVIDIA publishes no sample questions, we built them from the topic list and the suggested reading in the study guide. Each test also includes six Select TWO questions, and NVIDIA does not describe the exam's question types.

Is there an NCA-ADS course with practice tests?

NVIDIA's learning path has three courses on the tools in the topic list and lists no practice exam. On October 24, 2026, Udemy had at least two NCA-ADS practice-test courses and Whizlabs had an NCA-ADS course page with one free test and two practice tests. preporato.com has six practice tests with free sample questions.

Are there hands-on labs for NCA-ADS?

Preporato Pro includes browser labs for data preparation, a RAPIDS pipeline on a GPU, scikit-learn and XGBoost with cross-validation, MLflow tracking, drift monitoring, time series backtesting and Docker. Descriptive statistics, visualization and graph analytics have no lab yet. NVIDIA's course Accelerating End-to-End Data Science Workflows is built around hands-on GPU work.

Where can I try NCA-ADS questions for free?

The certificate page on preporato.com has free NCA-ADS practice questions with explanations, and the NCA-ADS practice questions article walks through 20 more. Whizlabs offers one free NCA-ADS test (as of October 24, 2026).
